ITALIAN CONTEMPORARY FILIGREE COURSE

In order to create a unique piece both the Italian Filigree technique (using typical handmade pliers) and a contemporary and creative approach to the structures will be taught during the course.
The course duration can vary from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 4 days, considering the desired technical and conceptual level of study.
2-DAYS COURSE
During this intensive course, Valentina will show you the basic phases to realize a ready-to-wear Filigree jewel.
You will learn to weave some of the traditional shapes that will be used to fill an empty light structure typical of this making.
You will be guided step by step in the creation of a pendant, combining an ancient technique with your manual imprint.
4-DAYS COURSE
In the complete 4-day course, you will discover not only all the Italian Filigree secrets but also you will have the chance to individually discuss with the teacher an individual project.
You will learn through several creative methods how, starting from an emotion, a concept, a color it is possible to develop unique compositions and shapes, and finally to create a contemporary piece of jewelry.
Thanks to face to face conversations with the teacher, each student will embark on a journey to create not only an aesthetically pleasing but also meaningful piece.
You will be able to realize either a pair of earrings, a pendant, or a ring, and you will have to chance to discuss how to expand this piece in one or more collections.
Experiment and combine your artistic expression with the ancient intrinsic beauty of the Italian Filigree!
3-DAYS COURSE
During the 3-day course, besides learning the basic technique, you will discover the endless possibilities of the manual weaving of metal threads, the evolution of the Filigree typical twisted ones.
Valentina has developed an original method that will let you note the complexity of multiple twines in an easy and intuitive way.
Each student will be guided through a series of creative exercises to translate his/her ideas into a unique piece of jewelry.
These weaving technique peculiar characteristics allow you to realize elegant and light pieces, characterized by a high technical and artistic level.

The price includes the use of the bench for the duration of the course, the use of tools, the solder, the Silver 925 and pure Silver necessary for the making of the jewels during the course.

Valentina blends the traditional technique with the contemporary one, fundamental to create unique and original pieces.
She teaches her Italian Contemporary Filigree Course all around the world, in fact, she has been traveling in Europe, Asia and American lately both as a Conceptual Jewelry and Italian Filigree teacher in goldsmith schools and Universities, and as a Goldsmith technique and Design advisor for private companies.
