ITALIAN CONTEMPORARY FILIGREE COURSE

During the 3-day-intensive course you will learn all the procedures to realize a piece of jewelry using the Filigree technique.
Starting from the twisting of the pure silver wire, we will move to the construction of empty flat wire structures, to proceed weaving organic shapes typical of this ancient way to work precious metal wires, to finally weld and finish every single detail.
What is more, Valentina will guide all the students through engaging creative exercises in order to create a unique and original piece for each student, to make sure that everyone can ingrain his/her creative imprint to the final jewel.

The price includes the use of the bench for the duration of the course, the use of tools, the solder, the Silver 925 and pure Silver necessary for the making of the jewels during the course.

Valentina Caprini has learnt the filigree technique from the Campo Ligure artisans, in Genoa. This small village is one of the most active and important places for this special kind of workmanship.
Valentina blends the traditional technique with the contemporary one, fundamental to create unique and original pieces.
She teaches her Contemporary Filigree Course all around the world, in fact, she has been traveling in Europe, Asia and American lately both as a Conceptual Jewelry and Italian Filigree teacher in goldsmith schools and Universities and as a Goldsmith technique and Design advisor for private companies.
